Position Summary
We are hiring full-time PEMB & Tensile Structure Installers. This role travels frequently across North America and occasionally overseas to install pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) and rigid-frame, tensioned-fabric structures on outdoor job sites. You will work with site supervisors and cross-functional teams to deliver safe, code-compliant, high-quality installations on fast-moving schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and assemble PEMB and frame-supported fabric structures per drawings, specs, and torque/fastening requirements.
- Set out building lines/elevations; align, plumb, and brace primary frames, purlins, and secondary members; verify tolerances.
- Tension and finish fabric systems (keder panels, membranes) or cladding; install doors, endwalls, and accessories.
- Perform recover/re-skin and repair scopes (fabric replacement, door swaps, retrofits, re-anchoring) on existing structures.
- Operate site equipment (telehandler, MEWP, skid steer) and hand/power tools safely; complete daily equipment checks.
- Complete JHAs/FLHAs, toolbox talks, lift plans, and lockout/tagout as required; uphold BRFB and site safety protocols.
- Coordinate with GC/owners and BRFB PMs on sequencing, deliveries, inspections, and QA/QC documentation.
- Travel extensively; work outdoors in varied climates; adapt to remote sites, secure facilities, and base access requirements.
- Maintain company-provided tools, rigging, and PPE; contribute to continuous improvement and tidy, efficient sites.
Qualifications
- Experience installing PEMB and/or tensioned-fabric/steel-frame structures (preferred). We will train high-potential candidates with construction/erection backgrounds.
- Proficient in reading drawings, erection plans, and shop details; able to interpret anchor/foundation layouts.
- Comfort with layout instruments (laser level, transit), torqueing, rigging, and working at heights.
- Valid certifications (or willingness to obtain): fall protection, MEWP/aerial lift, telehandler/forklift, WHMIS, First Aid/CPR. (MEWP/telehandler tickets are a strong asset.)
- Eligibility for access to secure/controlled worksites (e.g., government or military bases), including background checks and the ability to obtain site passes/badges.
- Class 5 (or equivalent) driver’s licence and clean abstract; valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
- Physically able to lift 50 lb (23 kg), climb, and work at heights/outdoors in all weather.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving; takes ownership for safety and quality.
